Another fairly productive weekend.... Pics of undercoated rear wheel wells (from last week)...
final coated (let's hope!!) rear end...
attaching clips installed on new stainless steel rear brake lines...
rear suspension snubbers and rear brake hardware blasted and clear coated or painted chassis black in preparation for reassembly of rear end...

Fairly productive day Saturday.... marked, trimmed, painted and tacked the end caps onto the lower control arms....
Need to drop them off to the guys at F3 to lay down some nice weld beads to finish them off before final paint. I also masked off and shot the rubberized undercoating onto the rear wheel wells (damn, forgot the pics!!), shot another coat of satin chassis black on the rearend...
marked the location of the mounting clips onto my new stainless brake lines, then removed the clips from the old lines, blasted, wire brushed then cleared them prior to installing onto the new ones (again, no pics!) and took down the cleared shifter cup and shift linkage to take home to reasssemble the floor shifter...
Very near to start reassembly of the rearend and look forward to getting SOMETHING rehung on the frame to signify real progress towards completion!!
Don't touch that dial!

Here is the primed rear end from last weekend.....
I also got the first coat of Chassis Black on it but forgot to take pics! I next masked of the sides of the cowl and got them coated with rubberized undercoating....
POR15ed the rear wheelwells and shot the insides of the lower rear control arms, relocated the front jack stands....
and cleared the blasted shifter cup and linkage. Then I dragged out the blacksmithing tools and cold formed the end caps for boxing the lower rear control arms and got them ready for tack welding next weekend....
A pretty productive day!!
Stay tuned............

Broke down the rear end again...
drilled and tapped for a drain plug...
installed a new gasket and reassembled third member to housing....
and got it primed (sorry, no pic) and also put the rear suspension bracketry back together awaiting installation....
I also straightened out the side of the bent bumper guard....
and touched up a few areas under the car in preparation for the final coat of chassis black (pics next time). Later in the evening, I went to the World of Wheels my buddy Jim to look at some finished cars for inspiration and motivation!

Back track Saturday..... Original plans were to be assembling the rear end this past Saturday but instead it consisted of washing down the axle with acetone and ScotchBrite pads to remove the wrinkled black paint so I can respray a nice smooth coat...
I'm also going to remove the center section to replace the gasket and while I have it apart, going to add a drain plug to make it easier to service and change the gear lube. One high point was the suspension brackets turned out nicely!!
Until next time....
