Clean sweep.... part 2

I finished vacuuming the underside of the car this weekend. Looking at the pics just now I see a few spots I missed, but they will be addressed when the underside gets wiped down prior to the first coat of POR 15....

You'll notice some seam sealer along the underbody of the car... I figured if it didn't come off during the sandblasting and it resisted being scraped off that it was on there for the long haul and left it alone. Hope that doesn't come back to bite me in the butt!

I also got the sand blasting cabinet set up and put through it's paces.I tried it out on the passenger side rear lower control arm and it took almost an hour to do. I need to do some tweaking because the gun shoots a wide pattern that doesn't cut too well. As you can see it didn't do a very good job on the inside legs of the LCA.... But it was nice to be able to see what I was doing and not have sand getting into every nook, crack and orifice of my body! LOL

Stay tuned...........

Crites 460 headers.... part 1

When I got to the dealership Saturday, my 460 headers from Crites Restoration Products had arrived! I pulled them from the box to check them out and then I did a quick assembly on my 460 mounted on the engine stand to see how easily they go together.... I did have to ream the front mounting slot a bit deeper on cylinder #7 but that was the only snafu putting them together. 2" primary with 3 1/2" collectors... can't wait to hear these muthas rumble!!!

The true test however will be installing them with everything in place (ps steering box, transmission, etc). They are guaranteed to fit, so time will tell.

Until then.....
